On vids

I've come to the realization that all the vid-meta and Really Good Vids from [livejournal.com profile] permetaform and [livejournal.com profile] lierdumoa have spoiled me. I can watch their vids with songs I never heard before, for shows I've never seen (case in point: Moment Couldn't Break - Jeremiah, whatever that is, and freaking beautiful), and just admire the artistry - the rhythm, song/clip choice, storytelling, colours, movement. It's raised my appreciation for good vids to a whole new level, and I think I get a fuller experience from watching a good vid now. The meta taught me where to look, what to notice, which parts are easy, and which ones are hard, even though I've never vidded anything myself.

The downside: I just can't watch mediocre vids anymore, even if I really like the fandom and song. I'm like, "eugh, watch the colour, why is this clip so long, this movement totally doesn't work!" It saves me a lot of disk space, that's for sure ;)

Some other vids I like:

[livejournal.com profile] ashinae: When I'm Gone (Aragorn & Boromir section) never fails to draw my attention. Her other stuff rocks too :)

[livejournal.com profile] permetaform: Everything - though I'm very fond of After Midnight (Saiyuki)

[livejournal.com profile] astolat: Everything, though she recently drew my attention again with the remastered version of Kid Fears, which got recced all over the Star Wars fandom. It deserves it.

Any good vidders I missed? I'm the first to admit I don't go out of my way looking for vids, so I lack for new fodder for my discerning taste. Rec me something? Any fandom, any song, as long as the spark is there :)
