Writing frustration

I totally should post something Star Wars related, except for the fact that I didn't realise posting my info in imadra_blue's friending meme would lead to people actually friending me. So. Um. Probably not the right moment to mention the fact I haven't touched Star Wars with a ten foot pole in a long while.

Anyway, spent today trying to fic and failing. Current working-on-them-right-now list, just to motivate me tomorrow at work, because apparently I'm unable to write at home; at this rate I'll be able to write something I want to write around... hm, July?

- 3 Tanz der Vampire stories (trials of a vampire father, very twisted Dracula/Krolock and Herbertfic). All for fyrie *expletive deleted*

- Vlad and Gabriel by the fire, for ariss_tenoh, with sincere apologies for the delay

- Coldfire: Family Ties, possible vignettes, for Gerald Tarrant. Peskiest muse ever

- next set of Dooku drabbles for the 1character prompts, and the Dooku-and-Obi-Wan fic, for imadra_blue

- miscellaneous Dooku and non-Dooku fic for the SW people on the f-list because I'm feeling guilty

Oh, and on top of everything else I may be able to combine my obligations towards fyrie, the Coldfire people and the Star Wars people in one fic. But I've a feeling it might get me a wee bit flamed =^.^=

EDIT: *headdesk* Completely forgot. fyrie did it again. The next installment of her Buffy/Tanz crossover killed me even deader. Even if you don't know anything about Buffy or Tanz, if you have the slightest fondness for dominant vampires, for Lucifer's sake read this story.

“You’ll let us know if anything happens, right?”

“Well, duh!” Hugging Buffy warmly, Dawn stepped back. “And you’ll call me if you need any help with weird demon codexes?”

“Well, Will’ll take care of that,” Buffy glanced over at the red-haired witch who had already acquired a stack of books and was carefully arranging them in the trunk of the car. They had been borrowed on the solemn oath that if anything happened to them at all, she would pay the small fortune back herself. “I think she wants to make Giles faint with envy that she got to touch ‘em.”

“They’re first editions! Hand-written!” Willow’s head popped around the edge of the trunk. “No one has seen them in two hundred years!”

“Except, y’know, the Graf,” Dawn gave her an amused look.

Willow rolled her eyes, shutting the trunk carefully. “You know that’s not what I meant!” she protested, approaching Dawn and gesturing for a hug. “You sure you’re gonna be okay?”

Briefly embracing Willow, Dawn nodded. “I’ve been okay for a month already,” she reminded them. “I’ll be fine. And hey! You’re the one who said you wanted to move into the library!”

Blushing, Willow looked briefly sheepish. “But it’s so big,” she mumbled.

From the doorway of the manor, there was a snort of mirth.

“Screw you, Herbert!” Dawn threw over her shoulder.

“You wish, darling!” his voice floated back.

Shaking her head and laughing, Buffy squinted at the doorway. “What is it about us that brings out the crazy in the vampires?” she asked.

Wasn't it just the flashbacks they had to film after his death? Or did they redo a whole chunk?

No, he died during one of the first days of shooting on the loft set, while they were shooting the flashbacks. Everything else was already done, but just about all of the one-year-later loft scenes had to be reshot, that's why you almost never see his face in these sequences. You can see that when he enters the room, there's rain falling indoors, because he was mapped in from a shot outside in the alleyway. His face was also digitally mapped onto the shattered mirror while he's putting on the crow makeup, and they used a fragment of a previous rooftop shot for the first shot of the crow makeup revealed. Similarly, when Sarah comes up to the loft and meets him there, the voice is a fragment of her first meeting with him post-death (the "It can't rain all the time" scene) and the actor's a body double, that's why he's standing with his back to the window and you never see his face. One of the two doubles was a friend of Brandon's from the same dojo who could imitate his movements.

Uh. Did I ever mention I'm a total Crow geek, and that it was my first major obsession since I saw the movie in a deserted theatre on the third day of Christmas, 1994? I was 12 years old.

*grins* I did get the feeling you might now, what with the Crow mood theme :D I saw it back in 98 I think and fell in love, thenw as told by a friend "oh, you only like it because its famous for the guy dying" and I was like "WTF?!! The pretty is dead?!?!". I was belatedly distraught.

Alas, I've a history of falling for dead pretties. Apart from Brandon I saw Michael Hutchence in "Elegantly Wasted" and fell in lust only to hear two months later that he'd hung himself, I think I managed to discover hide (formerly of the former X-Japan) about two weeks before he followed suit, and now of course Barton, damn him...

Dear me, we do seem to have a lot in common ;)

Off to bed now, because despite codeine headache's back with a vengeance and light-sensitivity to boot. Will be expecting Gilesfic in my mailbox soon, and will drag the vampies to the hairdresser's with me tomorrow in order to work on various fics. They should love it, unless someone threatens to cut their hair off...
