Writing frustration

I totally should post something Star Wars related, except for the fact that I didn't realise posting my info in imadra_blue's friending meme would lead to people actually friending me. So. Um. Probably not the right moment to mention the fact I haven't touched Star Wars with a ten foot pole in a long while.

Anyway, spent today trying to fic and failing. Current working-on-them-right-now list, just to motivate me tomorrow at work, because apparently I'm unable to write at home; at this rate I'll be able to write something I want to write around... hm, July?

- 3 Tanz der Vampire stories (trials of a vampire father, very twisted Dracula/Krolock and Herbertfic). All for fyrie *expletive deleted*

- Vlad and Gabriel by the fire, for ariss_tenoh, with sincere apologies for the delay

- Coldfire: Family Ties, possible vignettes, for Gerald Tarrant. Peskiest muse ever

- next set of Dooku drabbles for the 1character prompts, and the Dooku-and-Obi-Wan fic, for imadra_blue

- miscellaneous Dooku and non-Dooku fic for the SW people on the f-list because I'm feeling guilty

Oh, and on top of everything else I may be able to combine my obligations towards fyrie, the Coldfire people and the Star Wars people in one fic. But I've a feeling it might get me a wee bit flamed =^.^=

EDIT: *headdesk* Completely forgot. fyrie did it again. The next installment of her Buffy/Tanz crossover killed me even deader. Even if you don't know anything about Buffy or Tanz, if you have the slightest fondness for dominant vampires, for Lucifer's sake read this story.

Tanz, Coldfire and Star Wars in one fic? I'm not sure whether I should be most concerned for von Krolock, Gerald, or Vader. Or the galaxy in which that triad is set loose. ;-)

You'll manage to write at home. Just let the muses catch you in the right mood.

Fortunately this one is not Tanz, but a random bunny fyrie set my way. I am proud to announce that Anakin's reaction to Gerald is to fire up the lightsaber and charge, as Obi-Wan and Damien facepalm in unison :D

Writing Dooku now for some reason, mostly because von Krolock is still gathering resolve to face a very unpleasant situation I want to put him in. Which is rather hypocritical of him, since he's not the one dying of having his guts ripped out in this fic...

Oh, good if it isn't Tanz. The image of Gerald and von Krolock teaming up against Vader was slightly worrisome.

(And sounds just like Anakin.)

If he's doing the ripping, then I can understand the reluctance. Those stains are so hard to get out of clothing.

My Gerald and von Krolock get along surprisingly well, but I'm hoping that inevitable tag-teaming will happen against a more challenging opponent than Yippee!Boy ;)

Nope. All he has to do in the fic is listen, and then munch on someone. Not my fault that he decided to have existential angst over vampirising his son at said son's firm request...

I don't know if you're familiar with Batman, and Batman Begins, but I'm beginning to think they might find a bit of a challenge in taking on Ra's Al Ghul. He's functionally immortal, so once they're done with him they can chuck his corpse into a Lazarus Pit and he'll be ready for more fun the next morning...

Herbert's rather annoyed, since he's the one bleeding all over the bed while dad is frozen at the door to the inn. I can relate to his irritation, really.

Not familiar with the guy, but he certainly sounds like someone they would like. Perfect for all kinds of experiments - imagine the fun they can have!

Ah. I imagine I'd be slightly impatient in that case as well. So he'd better get over his existential angst quickly before Herbert gets really upset?

That, and he's an eco-terrorist who thinks humanity should die/regress in civilisation so that nature can thrive. Right up Gerald's alley, really, I won't even have to prod our dear Hunter into action.

Herbert says that he can always start with the gruesome sound effects to provide motivation, but he'd rather not. It's undignified.

Ouch. Eco-terrorism. While Gerald may be all for nature terrorizing annoying people, it's only permitted if it happens under his control, without threatening his carefully constructed society.

Oh and work all day, I had a scene stuck in my head, or at least the dialogue thereof:

Buffy: Don't you want a normal life?
Dawn: Buffy, I can't have a normal life. I never could have a normal life.
buffy: Of course you could! You got into the school you liked and that guy... Jamie... he liked you, didn't he?
Dawn: *in a monotone* He ran away after he saw me kill a demon with garden shears.
Buffy: ... oh...
Dawn: Yeah.
Buffy: There'll be other guys... guys who understand... I mean, look at Vittorio...
Dawn: Seriously, tell me one normal guy you've dated! Vampire, jerk, one-night stand, demon-fighting-agent, vampire, immortal...

This is where Dawn starts making an argument for a normal life her way.

Oh dear. Now I have an image of her breezing in and demanding demon-hunting info, and he just rattles off the appropriate index numbers in the library before he asks whether she'll need to borrow a rapier :>

That's pretty much the way they work. He doesn't stifle her natural behaviour and she accepts him for the way he is :D I suspect Illyria and Dawn will turn into sparring buddies at some point and that when Dawn does her globe-trot thing, she'll take Illyria along just to shut Spike up :D

Also, had a thought for a scene at some point after Dawn gets herself immortalified (which I now have a number of possible options to follow-up) - she's sitting on the lawn with Spike, just after sundown and she admits to him she did very silly, painful trials like he did for his soul and he's just gaping at her and asking why and she shrugs and says "because he keeps losing people. I didn't wanna be another one". Boggled by how much she cares, Spike wanders off and even before he's out of sight, Dawn murmurs "and how much of that did you overhear?" a moment before arms slide around her waist out of thin air ;)

*wibbles* Poor VK! Having to eat someone that close has to be bad.
