So, yeah. I'm watching Angel lately, Angel season five fresh off the net. And?
Oh my gods, talk about the Episode On Crack. Between David Boreanaz evidently having a ball directing, David again acting very well and the sheer squee factor of Christian Kane, I kept squealing just about through the whole episode. Well, apart from the moments where I was snickering at Spike's slipping accent. Can't win them all.
All of Angel's visions were delightful crack, but Lindsey as Spike's guide to hero-dom takes the cake. He got all the best lines ("You can call me Doyle") and looks v. good in those clothes. I can't wait to have him meet Angel. Fireworks, whee!
When Spike did his first good deed, it was eerie in the way it reminded me of the first-season episode "In the Dark". There we had Spike watching Angel save a lady and doing sarcastic commentary. Now we have Spike saving the lady. Altogether, I must say I prefer Angel-face in that role. And he'd threaten Lindsey better. Spike does do the "slam Lindsey against a wall while holding him by the throat" and I'm sure Lindsey barely blinked.
And ooh, Lindsey (supposedly or really? might be too many incidents to be staged) gets visions. I hope more motives from Brenda Antrim's Angel/Lindsey fics show up :))
Overall verdict: Just the kind of light-hearted crack mixed with twisted plot and a dab of angst I want from my "Angel". Yay.
