God's Army

I just finished rewatching God's Army, also known across the Atlantic as Prophecy. Yes, that movie where Viggo plays the devil.

Apart from the overwhelming angelic slashiness and the sheer coolness of Christopher Walken even if he doesn't get to dance, some points I need to think about:

- Thomas's vision: Angels. Impaled. Presumably those are the ones Gabriel's fighting. Impaler connection, anyone?

- the whole idea of Mary and the Colonel. Possibly worth developing on. Also, the actress seriously rocked.

- Lucifer's loneliness. And desperation. <3

- He's a renegade angel with a golden trumpet. She's an undead housewife who drives his car. They fight commit crime.

Also: this movie is more fun than it should be, really. Mrr, Gabriel. Lucifer. Simon too, for that matter.

The Prophecy was an excellent, excellent movie. Didn't get the box office it deserved, although it later became a rental hit and cult classic. The sequel isn't nearly as good, although it doesn't suck as badly as I thought it would. Walken's Gabriel was brilliant.

I kind of liked the sequel, but I've yet to see number three, or the fourth one. They lose for not having Viggo, though ^^

Holy crap, that is one of the best movies I've seen! I saw it as I entered my Christopher Walken phase, and was hooked immediately. I really enjoy the portrayal of Gabriel in the movie, it's gorgeous, as is Viggo's Lucifer. <33 The Native American theme that continues thought the series is very cool, too, although none of the subsequent movies really lived up to the first one.

I was so happy when I found it on DVD - it's got this style, this madness to it, that was an instant hit for me. And, well, Christopher's not exactly hard on the eyes ;)

I love that movie! I loved the scene where Gabriel was letting the kids play with his trumpet, and the one kid blew out all the windows of the school!

Oooh yes, those were both perfect! And the hospital scene: "Recovering... recovering... deteriorating, terminal! My favorite!"

I adore the Prophecy so much, despite the fact it threw Viggo's Lucifer in with my Tilda Gabriel from Constantine, causing much chaos amongst my other muses, and has resulted in excess slashiness.

On top of that, Viggo considers the scene where Lucifer kills Gabriel is apparently the sexiest he has ever done *dribbles on the angel-slash*

NOt to mention the premise. It's a stunning and fabulous idea and their angels are so creepily mythic.

Ooh, Viggo's just too sexy in this movie, period. All the purring :D

My subconscious is having multiple personality disorder at the moment. Three Gabriels is two too many. Constantine!Gabriel has been reduced to whimpering in a corner while Prophecy!Gabriel snarks elegantly and Herr Van Helsing just growls a lot ~_~

Just wanted to stop by and say 'Hi' since I found your LJ through one of the Phantom LJ communities that I belong to. I'm 35 and have been a Phantom fan since 89, though I like both Butler and Crawford.

I'm also a huge Dracula/vampires fan and my fav activity is reading pro author vampire fiction.

Recently, I've also become obsessed with the anime/manga Hellsing.
