Drive-by fic/author rec: Marnie Goodbody

I first stumbled into Marnie Goodbody's stories via her Qui-Gon tales - she weaves a great fanon timeline for young Qui-Gon's development, first with Yoda, and then with Dooku. Later I found that she also wrote for other fandoms, but due to various circumstances her work is scattered across the internet. She has a talent for perfect characterization and takes the reader on a journey deep into the characters' emotions. She also has an ear for dialogue that means you can hear the lines being said in the actors' voices, a rare talent indeed.

qui-gonline hosts many of her Star Wars stories, including all the Qui-Gon and Dooku ones.

Her Celeborn site hosts the LOTR stories.

Her FF.net profile hosts the LOTR stories and her new POTC ones. I'd like to recommend Excellence especially - it's slash (Gillette/Norrington UST) that's in keeping with the time period and doesn't ignore the unpleasant realities while managing to remain heartwarming.

And yeah, Marnie's also the one who made up Dooku's first name "Yan". Which I have the permission to use. Score :D

I still have quite a bit to track down, especially Broken - it's supposed to be the prequel to Heritage, and I can't find it anywhere :/ Don't want to bother her too much, especially since she's being gracious and allowing me to gack her fanon ;)
