Nanowrimo blather
Nov. 2nd, 2003 06:07 pmFirst, yay for Nano-induced productivity :) I managed to finish and edit the pesky fourth chapter of Clamp Campus X and now only need to edit the fifth and final one before posting it tomorrow.
Word count? 4,043 and it's only 6PM. I'm feeling pretty good about it - it's not a case of "writing so fast my fingers are tired to the bone", but more like I write at a steady, sure pace. I know what will happen, but that knowledge doesn't hamper my creativity. Instead I develop on each point as I come to it.
After 4K words - 8% into the required wordcount - I'm not that far into the novel, still doing initial exposition. I was planning to wrap up the first major scene by 10K, but now it looks like it'll take a while longer. I keep coming up with new stuff as soon as I try to go into the next scene, and I think the end wordcount will be closer to 70K, maybe 80K.
The characters are mostly behaving, which is a relief since I was afraid I'd have to work hard at keeping the two main ones from getting horizontal ^_~ The only one who's been causing me any trouble is Nate. On one hand I can understand he's afraid of Lee - they have backstory galore, and none of it pleasant. On the other, he's also suddenly developed a severe case of hero worship for Matteo, which is starting to get in my way ^.^; I think part of the problem is that I've never really written someone this innocent and openly hurting before; Nate's somewhat like just-post-TB Subaru, but somehow all the hurt didn't manage to destroy his innocence. Which might be dangerous for the poor thing *pats Nate*
In other news?
