Flea markets are dangerous, just so you know. I'm now the owner of a rather overpriced yukata that I fell in love with ~_~ At least it's really good quality.

I also did an unashamedly fannish thing and got up at crazy o' clock to go Shinsengumi hunting. The actual headquarters/museum are only available for viewing by appointment (in Japanese), but I found the Mibu temple and the building itself. There was a pair of Japanese tourists there and we exchanged furtive looks as we bought the maps of old Kyoto.

Now, to see Rainbow Bridge :>

If you're in Tokyo this week end there is a huge general doujinshi event on the 28th at Big Sight. You can go to the event and go over Rainbow Bridge to get there lol

Are you going to walk it or Yurikamome line it. Sadly if you wanted the true X experience you would need to find someone willing to drive over it. I was amused last trip I finally got to hear the (in)famous seiyuu on the Yurikamome line.

Was it from the famous parfait place with the 10,000 yen parfait? I'm not actually a parfait person, I prefer real sundaes. I just don't like corn flakes lol Are you still in Kyoto? Did you make it to Arashiyama, speaking of fannish pursuits?

No, Kyoto has a famous parfait cafe that mostly just sells parfaits. There are the more traditional 700 and 900 yen ones as well as a 8500 and 10,000 yen one.

You need to order it in advance, but people love taking picture of the model.

Too bad you did Arashiyama at a run, Tenryuji has a lovely garden. ♥ My favorite sights in Kyoto are: Kuramadera + Katsura Imperial Villa.

I love that people on my f-list make a point of searching out fannish things and sites while on vacation!
