I was so happy with it. I won't lie, as a Star Trek fan I went into it fearing that it would be either horrible, or a complete rape of my fandom but I was blown away by it. I really think this might breathe some new life into the franchise. Assuming they can convince non-Star Trek people to go see it.
The rave reviews might help ;) The audience in my screening, though, was 100% fanatic. Each "logical" drew a chorus of delighted giggles.
I think the greatest thing is that they got a cast that works together. The chemistry was tight. (Also, this is the sound of a thousand slashfics being launched...)
I wasn't too enthused by the trailers, but oh, Kirk ♥ They really, really made it work. (And they got a logical explanation for all the changes! That's so... Trek!)
