700 Trekkers gasping in delight in unison is a unique experience.

New movie gets it. It's not the old series (and it has an excuse to be), but oh, it's good fanfic :D

(Also, I want a Spock. And a Kirk. And a Bones. And a Star Trek icon.)

I was so happy with it. I won't lie, as a Star Trek fan I went into it fearing that it would be either horrible, or a complete rape of my fandom but I was blown away by it. I really think this might breathe some new life into the franchise. Assuming they can convince non-Star Trek people to go see it.

Oh, that was a relief to read. I've been dreading suckage for months now.

I'm planning on seeing it Sunday.

Glad to hear it's worth seeing. Alas, though, I'll have to wait until next weekend to catch it (I'm on call this weekend).

Ah good. I'm gonna go see it too, then. I was worried it would be just another silly remake.
