It's really a beautiful city, especially from the outside. The lack of modern buildings makes it even more striking than Vienna, IMHO.

Yep :) We got the penny tour, just that synagogue, memorial park with that stunning willow-monument and the museum. Absolutely gorgeous interiors there.

The lion looks confused (probably about the bird on his head). I especially like #11, 13, and 19.

#11 is a monument to the Anonymous Chronicler, but I can't help but think it looks kind of like Destiny from Sandman. That, or a Nazgul ;)

I'm just thankful my camera's up to the night shots :) The main bridge was busier than it was during the day, on the pedestrian side, with all the people from the hotels at the Pest end.

You've just decided the destination for my next trip. ;-)

For how many days did you go?

Six and a half (arrived Monday 1PM, left Monday crack-of-dawn), but really it was at least a day too much unless you're planning a lot of spa time - one day was spent bumming around and shopping, another visiting temporary exhibitions in a few museum, and half of yet another at the Tanz matinee. Lovely place, very friendly locals, and if you end up going, hit me up for addresses, including the best damn cakeshop in town. My co-workers demolished the biscuits in half an hour :D

It's really a beautiful city for a long weekend or something. Plus there's Phantom at the Madach theatre, which is starring Krolcok The Younger, Sanyi, as Raoul. And this would be him as Christine.
