Apparently the gale-force winds that kept me up all night are actually a hurricane named Kyrill. Cool. I've never been in named weather before.

Nice name, too.

We're getting said winds right now, and since I leave near an open field... it's just lovely being woken up at 4 in the morning by the walnut's branches slapping the balcony windows. Still, named weather! :P

Maybe try tying the branches up? Winds over here got up to 130 km/h, glass might not survive such impact.

They said it might reach 100 km/h today in the North here, but my town is in the centre and somewhat protected by mountain ranges so it probably won't get that bad. Still, there were city workers cutting tree branches all around town after the alert yesterday morning, so there's something definitely being done.

And here's hoping the winds don't get as bad as they did over here - though we still had it much better from Kyrill than UK or Germany. Still, had to pack my hair under my hat today in order to show up at work with a hairstyle other than "Wicked Witch of the West" ;)

I substituted the hat for my longcoat's hood for my trip to the bank, and even with my hair pulled back a few rebel strands still chose to flutter freely. ^^;;;
