Another "I'm alive" post

Seems that about once a week, I remember I still have an LJ ;) What time of mine isn't eaten by work is consumed by fyrie and our menagerie of original characters.

On the good news front, the postal strike is on hold and this means I got my mail - alighiera's card and valancystar's package both made me suitably bouncy :) As did Amazon.de's new promotional delivery charge of 6 euro per shipment of anything. I need to order Christmas presents :D

Bad news? Still haven't started the Yuletide fic due to work obligations and not having finished reacquainting myself with the source material (see: work obligations). Less than three weeks until deadline :S

And a very happy birthday to merentha :)

Oh good, the card actually made it! I hope that underneath the stamps and postal marks it was still readable.

It was :D And the stamps are very pretty, too. Especially the birdy ones. Will give to grandfather.

I know what to write, I just need to finish the bloody book and write it...

Yep, really sounds familiar. I even have my scene outline, I just need to sit down and get going, plus re-check a chapter in the book.

*sighs* I have a problem of not knowing much about my recipient's tastes. Might have to poke Yuletide admins to poke them about posting a Dear Santa letter, because my story may feature a mentor-student relationship turning sexual, with the student being 16-ish, and some people are squicked by that.

Ouch, that does make things difficult. You also don't have any other stories or LJ comments to go by?

Mine was nice enough to post a Dear Santa letter, and her posts are also a rather good guide as far as her tastes go. I'm counting myself lucky there.
