The fact that he tortured and drove mad one of VK's girlfriends in the eighteenth century. She was a homophobic bigot and he judged dad wasn't too attached to her yet. Then he hugged dad a lot as the latter angsted.
That all that angsting is really, really getting on his nerves and making him flail every single time. (He did tell him that graveyard dust is hell on clothes, which kind of got the message across.)
That what he feels for Draculea is as close to love as makes no difference.

Date: 2006-08-25 09:25 pm (UTC)The one time VK completely broke down in hysterics over his damned influence on Herbert (then age two or so), to which Vlad facepalmed and gave VK a quick parenting course, seeing as he'd gone through the terrible twos of five of his sons.
The fact that after almost screwing Herbert and then playing counsellor to him when the boy was sixteen and a half (the fic I'm currently writing) a very wound-up Vlad ambushed VK angsting in Herbert's room and made illicit use of Herbert's bed.
That all through the winter and spring before Herbert was turned, Vlad dropped hints to VK that it was high time to make the boy a vampire at the height of his youthful appeal. (Because Vlad frankly forgot about it and VK repressed it.)
That a long time ago, Vlad arranged for VK to inherit the title by orchestrating the downfall, disgrace and disinheriting of Wilhelm von Krolock, Johannes' elder brother.
