Drabbles: Tanz der Vampire (G to PG-13)

A much better day today, and it turns out that I'll probably be leaving tomorrow evening, salvaging half a day of lakeside vacation. In the meantime, the second batch of request drabbles, for the fandom that ate my brain:
For
fyrie, who rocks, Sarah, Alfred and pink ribbon:
SETTLED DEBTS
"Don't move!" she commanded as she tied the last knot.
He sniffed. "I just don't see why I have to do this if you lost the bet."
She finished off the last bow and poked his nose. "I made you. You do as I say."
"But-"
"Alfred..." She sighed and tugged her neckline lower. "Don't you love me anymore?"
By the way he turned scarlet, she supposed the answer was no. Anyway, it wasn't her fault either – how was she to know the noxious patchouli liquid was someone's favourite shampoo?
She checked that the pink ribbons held his limbs snugly to the bed, then she opened the door.
"All yours," she informed Herbert with a snarl as she swept out.

For
hotbeast, Herbert, von Krolock and a cell phone:
THE VIRTUES OF TECHNOLOGY
The object was a thin rectangle of black artificial matter, polished and inscribed with the sigil of the manufacturer. It weighed little and was pleasing to the touch. Von Krolock held it in the palm of his hand and reflected that he had seen much less attractive examples of these communication devices.
"I only used it for a few days before the blue one came in," Herbert explained. His son was beaming, possibly because it was the first time in the decade since these cordless telephones came into popular use that von Krolock had deigned to consider acquiring one. "It's not just a mobile. It takes pictures, plays movies, and you can go online with it. Check e-bay auctions from the top of the east tower, if you want."
Von Krolock let a smile cross his lips at the eagerness in Herbert's voice. Then he wedged one nail under the lid of the device and opened it, letting the screen come to life. It took him several seconds to decipher the image that appeared.
He shot Herbert a reproving look. "I think I shall start by changing the picture that displays in the background of the interface."
Herbert blushed scarlet.

For
ciciaye, hair curlers:
FRUSTRATIONS
Herbert stared at the enchanted mirror that actually showed his reflection, then bared his teeth and hissed. Oh, this was the last stroke!
The first minion brave enough to investigate his screams of frustration got a hairbrush across the face. He sent the next two fleeing a thrown set of curling tongs before collapsing to his knees in the middle of scattered clothing and beauty supplies, an incessant whine issuing from his lips.
Then the air changed, and with a whisper of his cloak, the Graf's arms were around him.
"Herbert?" he prompted.
Herbert half-turned towards him, burying his face in his father's dark hair. "It's the damn hair curlers," he muttered as long fingers stroked his back. "Six hours in the horrid things, and when I take them off, I have frizz instead of curls!"
"You could have come to me, dear one," von Krolock murmured. "You do know I have spells for it."
Herbert shifted, reluctant to admit why he hadn't asked for the only magic that had made being fashionable in the seventeenth and eighteenth century the slightest bit tolerable. "You were busy. With Sarah..."
"I'm never too busy."
As his father kissed his forehead, then helped him up and drew him toward the mirror, hands already sinking into his hair to let magic nullify the abuse the curlers had wreaked, Herbert allowed himself a fond smile. The distinct vibration of Sarah's irritation just outside the doors to his suite was only the icing on the cake.

Date: 2006-07-03 08:24 pm (UTC)I like the thought of those chaps looking at ebay - although you can find some quite rare books there, so maybe they'd use it quite a bit. Or Herbert would anyway, and maybe bid on his father's behalf when an interesting find came up.
Incidentally (and going off on a tangient), what sort of personality does Sarah have? From what I've read of her in your descriptions and

Date: 2006-07-03 08:42 pm (UTC)Sarah's an eternal seventeen-year-old who uses every wile she has to get her way :> Both of us also have the Warsaw Sarah, who unashamedly eyes Alfred's booty, fools him into thinking she wants to have sex with him in order to get the bathroom to herself despite being banned from it by her father, and then takes VK up on his invitation to attend the ball and "become a woman", which incidentally gets her father vampired up during a rescue attempt. I think you can do the math ;)

Although I can't imagine VK updating very often, as he seems to be a bit of a private vampire. Herbert, on the other hand, would be on every day, doing 'What type of Pirate are you' memes and stuff :-)
