I went to this one just for the purpose of taking pictures, but sort of ended up getting an autograph on my programme and an autographed poster ;) No idea how that happened...

Alas, this was a much smaller event and with a shorter before-signings part - there was only Lukasz Dziedzic, Malwina Kusior (Sarah) and for some reason Marcin Wortmann (second-cast Alfred) instead of Jakub Moleda. No dancers this time, and no Jakub Wocial (Herbert) - apparently this was only decided yesterday. Curses. The light was much better, with actual sunlight, and I wanted to get more Herbert photos!

Not!Krolock (Pawel Podgorski) is infectiously happy and a great MC :) I need to attend at least one show (Tanz or Cats) with him, because I'm sure he's got great energy onstage.

Not!Alfred. Compare what he looks like when playing a vampire. Quite a dramatic difference there ;)

Sarah, whose dress kept falling off her. I really think she's lost some weight. I still want that dress, mind you.

Signing things for people. Note ring and tie pin. Shiny!

Same, in closeup. This needs an icon and a caption of "poetry is hard".

Happy fun vampire. Actually he was a happy fun vampire all the time, but tried to keep a serious expression. Sometimes that didn't quite work ;)

I believe this is the "Enough of those closeups already. Get your autograph and go away plzkthx" face. Eep.

And my main goal in attending today's promo - ta-dah!

Lukasz Dziedzic & Malwina Kusior - Na Orbicie Serc (Total Eclipse of the Heart)

Live, in costume and in character. With the most charming vampire bite ever at the end. Alas, people jostled me all the time and a lamp got in the way, but I think it didn't come out too badly. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] hotbeast for allowing me to maneouvre :D

I have a sneaking suspicion I shall be collecting a second VK when I see this chap live. (And I still find it terribly amusing that I so blatantly channelled Vienna!Krolock after seeing barely a video and a half)

Apparently, when his bitch of a mother showed up, 11 year old VK started lurking. With his eccentric old man. Who may or may not have been a very good spy. No one knows if that rumour is true. And VK senior is smiling amiably.

Everyone thought he was a dashing adventurer, off doing daring deeds, but when asked, he produces rather tattered old maps and books of business and beams like they're his kids. So, people started assuming he was just a rather dopey old chap who got a bit too much sun while travelling and making business connections on behalf of parts of Europe.

Turns out assumptions could be rather... wrong. He's definitely not as dim as people assume and he and his son share a rather fascinating intellect that no one else seems to get. VK's mother is infuriated by the fact dad and son can talk meaningless nonsense to one another. She doesn't realise they can understand each other completely ;) VK thinks he has the coolest dad in the world :D

He was very liberal about it, because alchemy intrigued him (not just for the "ooh, look! Blowing up stuff with chemicals!" either, though he did like the finer aspects of that kind of thing) but VK's experimentation with darker aspects only came into play after dad was long dead and Lise just shortly in the ground.

I think his... services were no longer required when Junior went off to be a student and whathaveyou and by the time Johannes came home, dad could see the potential in him, but knew the dangers too well to want to risk his son for them. I think his cover was blown at some point, which means he was probably on the Most Wanted list or equivalent thereof.

I think that could be one of the major reasons he's such a recluse now - doesn't want to draw attention to himself and thus, his family. I have a suspicion he's still a code-breaker and whatnot and lets the boy help him, on a vow of silence, but he's smiling amiably, chewing on a bit of grass and insisting he hasn't a clue what I'm talking about :D

I think he was given the title and looked at it and went "wtf are you doing, you morons? You call this low-key retirement?" - but it gave him a big shiny castle, which served to entice the laydees almost as much as his reputation and the myth surrounding him.

He really loved his library, though. After years of being on the edge of danger, almost constantly with his life under threat, the idea of falling asleep with a book in his lap and his feet bare in front of the fire was a comfortably charming one.

I think he actually settled for her because of the directness. He found it novel and amusing to have someone approach and announce that she wished to make his acquaintance. Too much cloak-and-dagger stuff meant he was bored of intrigue, especially regarding himself. He retired to escape from that.

Plus, she could be a formidable weapon, when unleashed. And no one would ever suspect that a notorious spy would but such a bullied and down-trodden husband :D Even when marrying, he subconsciously arranges his situation to his best advantage,

VK idolised his father, but VK Senior wasn't exactly sure what to do with kids. He tended to be very formal and cordial with them and only when Johannes busted into the library and started spending time with him did he realise they were more than just miniature people. Plus, he always treated Johannes like an adult, which had a profound effect on the boy. He spoke to him as an equal, rather than patronisingly, and that only made VK adore him all the more. I think he saw Johannes as his chief minion :D

For the most part, but there were moments where Senior and Junior could match VK & Herbert. Especially when VK is in the library and he and dad have been studying and he's falling asleep on his book. Dad gently lifts him, barely rousing him, carrying him to a nook tucked away in the library, where he's got a make-shift bed. VK clutches at dad's hand and tells him not to go away, because he'll get lost in such a big library, so dad gently arranges his son in his arms and lets him sleep there.

There wasn't much like that, but it was enough to make VK savour every instant.

Exactly :D Dad wasn't the best father in the world, but he was one of the most interesting and smartest people VK ever knew. He has and always shall idolise him.
