*pokes European section of f-list*
May. 18th, 2006 09:12 pmOi! Eurovision semi-finals tonight! Vote LORDI! :D :D :D
And running recap:
Armenia - bad, BAD Ricky Martin knockoff
Bulgaria - decent girl. Shame she can't move.
Slovenia - ugh. I thought Finland did the monsters this year? What's with the werewolf hair, dude?
Andorra - ooh. Three singers' worth in one body, both in terms of weight and voice. Showstopper, no matter how much she weighs.
Belarus - Kylie knockoff, with yoga!Geri Halliwell mixed in. Much less talented than either.
Albania - classic cheesy Eurovision folk. Points for embroidery on those waistcoats, though.
Belgium - Kate Ryan. Knockoff of Tainted Love with a Motown vibe. Listenable.
Ireland - pub crooning. Quite decent pub crooning, but still. Cookie-cutter Irish.
Cyprus - showtune, Whitney Houston style. Not bad.
Monaco - *blinks* Disco Tahiti. In Tahitian. The hell?
Macedonia - Balkan pop with Turkish rhythms. Kinda like a Yugoslav Jessica Simpson.
Poland - *crickets* *cricets* *CRICKETS*
Russia - cute. I like the showdancing. The song's forgettable, but not jarring. Decent voice if he'd release it, but he sounds determined to sing boyband style.
Turkey - I think I'll ogle the dancers instead. Niiice :D
Ukraine - Shakira called. She wants her act back.
Finland - LORDI! YAY! WINGSES! :D :D :D Number 16, people! Don't forget to vote!
Netherlands - hmm, the tropical theme is popular tonight, isn't it?
Lithuania - I thought this sort of behaviour was reserved for UK Christmas top ten contentders? Still, unexpected surrealist cabaret = plus points.
Portugal - cheery girlpop, seventies style. Listenable. You can even whistle to it.
Sweden - disco anthem again. *channel surfs*
Estonia - country disco. That's something new, certainly.
Bosnia&Herzegovina - Balkan crooning this time. Quite nice. Background music.
Iceland - bubblegum pop meets Roxie Hart. And my gods, the pink. My eyes.
