I did a disappearing act of my own in Milan this summer, and according to Mother there's nothing as ulcer-inducing as having your kid disappear in an ambulance into a hospital where no-one speaks anything other than Italian, for seven hours before she managed to get through to me...
Sure you can! Well, because my part-time job is done mostly at home and I have my own phone line (it came free with my cable internet), and it's not exactly without a mobile since I do borrow my father's when I go out or on a trip. I sure as hell will be using it during the Theatre Festival, as well! But I'll probably end up getting my own for Christmas or something.

*pats her Lucien* I can't imagine life without my mobile, really. I recently discovered its email capabilities, so now it's a true communications centre along with the focus of my artistic expression. I might have a few dangles too many on it ;)
Fortunately Mother is resourceful and managed to rope a coworker's friend living in Italy to phone the hospital and find out they kept me in the waiting room for over six bloody hours :/ Still, turned out for the best. I got good drugs there :>
*lol* I can imagine. I'll probably get one with email abilities as well, just because I'd be dead without checking my email while on trip, and thsi tourism course might result in such situations. And dangles are fun! Lime the keychains on my keys, eh? *smirks and pets the three she currently uses*
*pets* It goes to show the Italian doctors aren't entirely incompetent, and that learning Italian might be a good idea. I most certainly never regret it, and I started learning by watching cartoons so it was fun too!
I recommend a Nokia 6820 or similar - that's what Lucien is, and the flip-open full keyboard's a godsend when typing emails. As for dangles, I currently have three on the phone (all butterflies; Lucien loves butterflies), the One Ring and some pearls on the keys, and a jewel-encrusted skull on the camera. I might be overdoing things a little ;)

For now my keys sport the "You've been a bad boy, go to my room!" keychain galynthia sent me, the Trinity Blood Abel keychain I won in an online contest (together with pretty Japanese doujinshi art stationery), and my Vlad Tepes keychain of course. Plus my various keys. =^_^=
