winter: (emote - give me coffee)

In contrast to yesterday's snarling:

- The fact that after 5 years of wobbling between UK size 18 and 14, I'm wearing size 12 trousers. I'm 5'10", so this is NOT a plus size.

- K discovered the secret coffee machine where you can get the kind of coffee they serve to clients. Mmm, caffeined goodness.

- It's [livejournal.com profile] amamiyarin's birthday today, and I don't even want to know how long it's been that I've known her :D

- Coldfire status: I now know what Narilka's on about in the long thingie, am way past the action scene in the short thingie, and have 5 drabble ideas :S

Also, I saw Cats today. It's no Tanz - no story, not much emotion really - but damn if it isn't cute. The Warsaw version is gorgeous, terribly professional, mad ballet skillz and not one but two actual famous opera tenors (as Old Deuteronomy and Gus). And check out the original costumes! They're amazing.

*looks at the musical-loving portion of the f-list* Guys, would anyone happen to have an mp3 of Steve Barton as Munkustrap, by any chance? ^_^

Alas, I have been unable to find Barton, but I know a guy who owns oretty much every recording in the history of the world ever. I'll see if I can get a hold of him :)

And yay for weight loss :D

I've seen at least 4 different productions during my worst geek stage ;) When I was a late-teen I got crazily obssessive about one thing at a time. Now, at least, I let it become more diverse so I don't spend insane amounts of money on one particular thing :D

The costumes in the Polish version are fabulous! They're so colourful and spiffy. Although London had ridiculously neat and perfect ones, which looked as if they were brand new every day, I love seeing the different kinds they make for different casts. I also am still a huge geek about the Japanese version, because the gymnastics I've seen in photos and footage was astounding! Alas that I have never seen one with mad l33t ballet skillz, though. Gymnasts on Broadway, yes. Ballet, not so much.

Oh, I always adore seeing how the fights are choreographed. The best I've seen would definitely be the Broadway production, because the guys playing Alonzo and Macavity out there were best of friends and trusted each other so much - the lifts, the throws, the physically hoisting the guy off the floor by his calves, swinging him around your head and hurling him across the stage... it was utterly breathtaking to watch. Of course, I also saw an understudy doing one of the roles one and he almost dropped the guy who played Macavity. Not so good. But when you have good people who cearly know and trust each other the chemistry and fire was amazing :D
