Alas, I can't find a video of Lambiel's gala programme, which was a lovely and joyful celebration of skating. But.

Between hockey last night, I caught a repeat of Plushenko's gala performance.

Go watch.

And then try and tell me that guy's not poetry on ice.

(And yes, I've been watching it over and over and over again.)

After the long programme a lot of people said Plushenko had no artistry in him. I think that was his way of telling them to kindly bugger off ;)

(Also, once or twice he skated so close to the violinist that I was sure he'd crash into him ^^;;)

I was incredibley miffed last night to find they'd not even bothered to plan to show it on the telly here. They only wanted to show the competition, not the pretties at the end. We had Gardner's World on instead. BLAH I say!

Blah to them, indeed. The gala's the thing - the competition can be sometimes unbearable to watch because everyone keeps falling down, like this year's men's free skate...

Most of the gala was so-so, but all the guys skated beautifully - Lysacek's performance to Sway was very fun. I need to re-watch it too, since at one point I had to leave the house, and then it got cut off :/

Yeah, I loved her gala performance too - like something out of a fairytale. But I'm partial to the male skaters for some reason ;)
