I remember seeing this meme in many livejournals, but while it seemed useful, I kept putting off doing it. Now I can't recall who I ganked it from ^^;
1. No, the name in my passport is not Beth Winter. The real one's too unique and I'd rather not be immediately googlable.
2. I live in Warsaw, Poland, Europe, Earth.
2A. Corollary: my native language is Polish. I learned English from a British teacher and American movies, so my vocabulary and pronunciation are firmly mid-Atlantic. I try to keep the spelling British, though.
3. I'm a corporate shark in training, and close to completing my education.
4. I read and write slash, that is relationships and sex between people of the same gender, mostly because it allows me to tackle the emotional issues without gender dynamics getting in the way. This does not mean I don't write the regular kind of romance; in fact, my characters tend to be cheerfully bisexual.
5. I DON'T write or read chan (stories sexualising prepubescents), or intergenerational incest, for purely squick reasons.
6. I read voraciously, but circumstances of my birth mean that I'm not guaranteed to have read certain American and English classics. I'm working on remedying that, but there are just too many books to read.
7. I like showtunes. Deal.
8. I like cats. A lot.
9. I'm a collector, of just about everything that interests me, especially trivia.
10. I obsess because I like it. The permanent obsessions include The Crow and Dracula, and it looks like Dance of the Vampires will join the list.
11. Villains rock in general, and are much more interesting. Especially if they're vampire, ninja, sorcerers, or all of the above :D
Hm. Do any of the frequent readers have any suggestions for additions to the list above? Apart from the obvious things, like "approach with caution, patience is not infinite and meltdown may ensue" ;)
EDIT: Fascinating article on Ancient Roman sexual habits. I really like the term ambisexual as used there, especially since it's a useful label for a few characters of mine (Kirill Yevgenyevich, I'm looking at you here...).

I don't like those either. I don't like non-con (non-consensual) either, or dub-con (dubious consent), which I've seen a few times on various fanfic/slash sites.

Date: 2005-12-10 02:28 pm (UTC)I don't have issues with non-con as long as it's either just play, or done realistically (as a violation and lasting trauma). Then again, most of my favourite seduction scenes could probably be construed as dubious consent... #^_^#

I tend to go to extremes sometimes.
