Clone Wars, again

More Clone Wars:
Chapter 20:
Padawan Shaa Gi. X_X
Chapter 21:
Red Commander still rocks. I'm tempted to fic. Has he got a name?
Qui-Gon. Cave. Anakin. Facing the mirror *wibbles* (Also, Dooku plotbunny for a vignette.)
Also, Anakin throwing Qui-Gon's name in Obi-Wan's face. I knew it. They both still idolize him.
And everything else in this episode. My current favorite along with #3.
Chapter 22:
Heh. Anakin certainly didn't waste any time growing his hair out <3
...eww. Also, <3. Anakin, you big dork.
Dooku teaching. This is... instructive. Also, he evidently loves teaching.
Chapter 23:
...Windu's fighter is purple. And I'm sure there's Aurabesh for Bad Mother Fucker on it somewhere, too.
Chapter 25:
First Force-choke ever? Aww. Also, the loss of the roboclaw is really symbolic.
Anakin broods and fixes things, and then gets battle orders, and everything's all right again as he orders everyone around. I'm still amazed at how much sense this evolution into Vader makes.

Date: 2005-08-20 02:53 pm (UTC)Have you seen the one where Anakin brings Obi-Wan lunch? The big bag o'bugs?? Hee-hee, Obi-Wan's reaction was priceless as was Anakin's blithely chowing down on the crawlies. *Someone* ought to save that as a blackmail film for Lord Vader. XD
I really did like how the stories all fed into Ep. III so nicely.
The Commander of the clone-group that belongs to Obi-Wan is named Cody. We see his face in ep. III, he's the one with the impressive scar. I liked him, too.

Date: 2005-08-20 03:03 pm (UTC)Cody's the one on Cato Nemoidia, but the Databank does not list Muunilist among his missions, nor Cody among the characters who took part in the battle of Muunilist. Cody also sports orange markings on his armour, not red. Which leaves me with free reign as to what Red Commander was doing during the rest of the Clone Wars, and later :>

Date: 2005-08-20 10:10 pm (UTC)If you eat bugs you're not a dork, but a geek. The old usage of 'geek' was for a member of a circus sideshow who ate weird things and bit the heads off live chickens. 0_0 Would love to see that time-travel bit, though, it sounds like it would potentially be hysterical. If Luke and Leia were older, I could see Leia thinking, "I guess I can't blame Han for all our kid's quirks."

Oh yeah... I love it! They each keep referencing Qui-Gon.
In Ch. 22, Anakin is so adorkable that it's hard to reconcile Mr. "Bugs for Lunch, mmmmm!" with Darth Vader. Also, Obi-Wan is wearing bits of trooper armor!
Dooku is an amazing teacher, which really makes me wish for more backstory on him. WHat was his relationship with Qui-Gon like?
However I'm so VERY annoyed that the animators knew how to really use Grevious' flexibility and the movie SFX people didn't.
The 'ghost hand' sequence is just amazing, especially when Anakin is hallucinating that the cave paintings are moving. They're just too prophetic about his own life...

I've been wrestling with that bunny for ages. I think I've read that the official EU has them hating each other - I happen to see it quite differently. Like with Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan, and later Anakin and Obi-Wan, Dooku and Qui-Gon complemented each other. Reason and intuition, if you will, thought and conscience. Which is why my!Dooku went more than a little bonkers once Qui-Gon was killed.
Re: Grievous - I think they wanted not to make him too powerful in the movie, the same way the Jedi kick much more ass in the series than in AOTC and ROTS. Plus, you know, the cough and everything... meh.
(I also have a pre-cyborg Grievous plotbunny. Featuring Yan and Alidona Dooku. Yowza.)

Date: 2005-08-23 10:49 am (UTC)Yes, Qui-Gon is their father, and that's part of Obi-Wan's trouble with being Anakin's master. He's an orphaned boy taking care of his younger 'brother', and isn't comfortable having to be 'father'.
Also, Qui-Gon is sending wee!Anakin into the Tree of the Dark on Dagobah. That's just freaky, even in a dream sequence, cause he's only *nine*.

I think it went different too. He enjoys teaching to much not to have found Qui-Gon a joy, though probably also a frustration. And Dooku sounds much too fond of his former student in AotC to not have cared for him...
