I love the structure of your story. In lesser hands it would be cliched, but you make it work beautifully.
He's a little jedi-ish in the first part, but I love how Bruce uses the skill later in his play-boy life.
When Ducard notices how much Bruce enjoys the sound of his voice, he does not speak to him for a week. By the end of that time, Bruce is ready to scream.
And yeah, I had the thought, in another fic, that Bruce would be so starved for attention after his years of wandering than all the attention Ducard gives him would be intoxicating, even when he's beating the crap out of him.
