Haven't read yet, but--in Romanian (or Bulgarian? I'm not positive how much modern and historical boundaries have changed) history, there was a Prince that abdicated to a monastery and let his eldest son become prince. Later on he came roaring out when his son altered policy concerning the Byzantine Church/Catholic Church, successfully dethroned his son, installed his second eldest and then abdicated again. Could look up more details for you if you want. But anyway, you don't necessarily need your disclaimer.
