Ganked from [livejournal.com profile] shirabyoshi:

Look at your LJ userpics list. If you have fewer than fifty icons, pick every fifth one. If you have between fifty and seventy-five icons, pick every seventh one. If you have over seventy-five icons, pick every tenth one. If you have fewer than ten, pick all of 'em. List them on your LJ, and tell everyone exactly why you have each one, why it's interesting to you, what significance it has.

I've been using this default icon for ages - I made it from a picture od Debbie Harry. It's a gesture I use sometimes, and I like the shapes in it.

From Steven Meisel's ASexual Revolution photoshoot, this is my go-to androgyne icon. (I've been interested in androgynity and genderfluid characters since early childhood, though I identify very much as female.)

If I hit my icon limit, the Star Wars ones will be the first to go, but this one would be the one I'd keep. It's early concept art, Anakin being drawn from the lava-river.

Hellblazer as written by Neil Gaiman, John Constantine showing a rare human side. I like hugs, but I'm terrible at asking for them.

My Fear Of... icons are all from a little-known graphic novel by J. Michael Straczynski, Rising Stars. I tried to capture something of the appeal of the superhero genre - the fact that in any other time, these people would be terrifying monsters. (Some of the ones in Rising Stars are, even so.)

Neil ♥ I have two writing idols as far as style is concerned - him and William Gibson. Neil's writing is a tapestry; Bill's, a mosaic of shattered crystal.

Sentimental! This was the first icon I got on [livejournal.com profile] fyrie's account after we started talking every day. Which we have been doing for the past five years.

Máté! My love for his Vienna!Death is only surpassed by the one for the Hungarian incarnation, which features in a lot more icons ;) I wish he performed more. (Amusingly, I have two versions of this icon, with and without the RAR. The one without is for an RPG.)

And cheating, because the identical Máté icon was actually the next one by the meme's rules ;) Maki-Maki-Maki-Icchan, screencapped at a moment where all my computer equipment was refusing to respond - by photographing a TV screen. This is also an icon for that RPG.

Lina Inverse, by [livejournal.com profile] sorceresses. One of my few icons made by someone else, but it was irresistible :)

A vintage Takarazuka postcard scanned by [livejournal.com profile] galynthia and coloured by me, exhibiting the kind of old Takarazuka makeup that I adore. The text is the Revue motto - Pure, Proper, Beautiful.

Maki "Icchan" Ichiro again, this time as Oscar-Francois de Jarjayes :) I first watched Lady Oscar in German, age 12 or so, understanding none of the words and all of the emotions. I'm really looking forward to buying the entirety of the manga.

Amy Pond: Space Nightie. The icon is dreamy, showing Amy's child-like wonder, but I like her character in any incarnation. Most of all because she's sure of herself and when she meets a problem, she does something rather than sit and angst. Go Amy ♥
