Tom. Tom. Evil, evil woman.

At least I wasn't the only person sobbing in the intermission of Onegin. Tom and Hiromi just about did me in.

There is a full review upcoming (with an extra-special section for Ayanagi Shou, because yes, I have a new favourite), but this show is one of those that mean I love this revue, this wonderful theatre that goes straight for your heart without bothering with mundane things like words you can understand. I was sitting in Bow Hall with my face in pain from grinning and tears in my eyes.

(And Pushkin! They put Pushkin in it! In bed with Onegin! And Tatiana was perfect, so strong, and Maihane Mimi is my choice for Yuki Top, hands down, and I saw Miho Keiko live, and did I mention HIROMI yet?)

Isn't Shou WONDERFUL! She's been on my radar a while now, and she's just so adorable! You should look up some clips of Roget shinko, she got Chigi's role and she's soooooo hot in it!

Shou was keeping up with Tom's acting and dancing. THAT'S how good she was. This girl is someone to keep an eye on.

(Do you know Kunze and Levay's Mozart! musical? It's a similar tack, little Onegin showing up intermittently to express the feelings that grown-up Onegin doesn't allow himself.)

I'm kind of jealous you got to see this live now! I'm glad you liked it though. Sometimes I'm hit or miss with Tom. I think its because she's more reserved then other people and I don't know if maybe that doesn't translate quite as well to DVD but I'm glad to hear you liked it!

And Pushkin, yay!

And Hiromi, yay! Hiromi always seems to do much better in smaller shows. I like watching her open up and actually get decent roles without being overshadowed.

I'm also eager to read the review. It's sounds like Tom and Hiromi did great which are two reasons I would consider putting the dvd on 'the list'.

Tom definitely hit her stride with the interpretation here. The faces she was making, and the body language - art, pure art. It did remind me more of her early performances than something like Kaze no Nishiki-e.

And the whole show seemed to be about seeing who can keep up with Tom. Viz Hiromi, Mimi, Kitarou, Shou-kun, Suzuhana Risa Miho Keiko and Itsuki Chihiro in a wheelchair :)

Everyone needs this one :D It's a perfect storm - maybe dancing least of all, but there's a painful beauty to Tom and Mimi's lift-less pair dance, and the action choreography is pitch-perfect. Full review here.
