givemeyourwings, so here are her picks :)
In other news, today's edition of the second-largest national broadsheet published an article of mine, with this photo. Now to see if it has any effect on business ;)

Ah, Sei-chan :) Tokyo Babylon and X/1999 gave me a long-standing fondness for the merciless kind of antihero, someone operating by a different set of rules. This icon has the double whammy of being about eyes, a long-standing motif in my fiction: Seishirou's blank eye is the one he lost, while the eyeball he holds is Subaru's.
| I ♥ Darth - a little webcomic that was the best thing to come out of Revenge of the Sith, period :) This is my "Dear diary" icon, as well as the one for entries and comments where I'm cheerfully evil in corporate ways. |
I've got a series of icons from this photoshoot, ASexual Revolution by Steven Meisel for W magazine. They're all described by the keyword "androgyne". This is another theme and an interpretation I relate to - regardless of gender or sex, everyone in them is allowed the same messy, glam makeup, the same silk and lace. On top of it, the vertigo and exhaustion of a good night out.
Padme Amidala Skywalker as depicted in the Revenge of the Sith artbook, with a quote from one of my poems. There is a reason I don't put my poetry online.
Máté Kamarás ♥ Another icon I use as both emotional indicator and avatar, this is the "OMGcrazyYAY" style of showing up to your ex's wedding in white trainers and a vat of sparkles.
One of my new batch - Maki Ichiro as Death, of course. One of the reasons I adore her so is that while the initial impression you take away from the performance is "stone hard bastard", she conveyed so much with each twitch of lips. This would be "Does that really require my attention? *unimpressed*" |
