winter: (fandom - phantom-drown)
This was written for [livejournal.com profile] fyrie, and because I have a strange combination of Phantom characters in my head at the moment - Erik from the Polish small-stage production and the original London Raoul. Erik in particular is a strange bird, mostly because the actor doesn't think twice about singing Raoul songs - or hell, Christine ones - during his recitals, while in the mask. A Phantom singing Twisted Every Way made an indelible impression on me.

Warnings: Heavy angst. And Erik is even more melodramatic than certain vampires.
Rating: PG

Summary: When it's over, Erik finds a place to think, but he's not expecting visitors.

SINGING SONGS IN MY HEAD

winter: (x1999 - merciless)
I just uploaded the newest oeuvre to FF.net and it seems that the Pit of Voles is dividing Phantom fiction into "worlds" of book, musical and movie, despite the fact it's all in the Book category. This is disturbingly reasonable.

In other news, apart from some errands and chatting with [livejournal.com profile] fyrie (for values of chatting that encompass "271 messages within 24 hours"), I spent today catching up on online events and indulging in musical-love. Thanks to a tenuous connection, I stumbled on X-Japan performing Forever Love at their last live. Has it been nine years since I first heard that song?

Here, have X-Japan at their most visual. I know, they did good fast hard songs too (hell, I love X), but it's Forever Love and Tears and Crucify My Love that I played over and over again until the neighbours complained.

And here's something from the Takarazuka artist who also performed Forever Love. Nessun Dorma - and yes, she's a girl.
