Drabble requests
Apr. 1st, 2006 07:51 pmI'm stuck, stuck, stuck on the Van Helsing things.
Time for a kick start.
Give me a fandom and either a character, a pairing, an item, a title, or all of the above. Get a 100-word drabble in return.
No Van Helsing for obvious reasons, and also no CLAMP. Otherwise anything I'm vaguely familiar with is fair go. This includes Coldfire, Underworld, V for Vendetta (comic) and anything up to and including Night Watch (Russian version).
First 10 will get written today.
EDIT: *sweatdrop* 6 requesters so far, 4 of which want pr0n. Um. People?

Date: 2006-04-01 12:57 pm (UTC)This is so in-character that it's a good thing I'm not sitting on a chair else I'd fall. Gerald and Damien being romantic like a couple, except with traces of an ex-Hunter logic^_^

I got a reply in less than two hours!!!
Heya Julia! Thanks for all the praise! My next trilogy starting with
Feast
of Souls will actually be released in Germany in German the same time
the
American edition comes out, next spring, so look for it!
Damien is a large guy, in that husky way that guys can be when they are
still in good shape: solid. He is described as having light brown skin,
very
tanned and weathered from a lot of travelling outdoors. Dark brown
hair,
with the first few gray stray hairs showing up at the end of the
series, I
seem to remember. He is 35. I never described and honestly do not care
how
his hair is dressed, save that he does nto seem the kind to put a lot
of
time and attention into it. A little scruffy would be suitable.,
Other
details are left up to the reader's imagination. most readers seem to
transform him into a 19 year old blond blue-eyed teen-type hero in
their
minds, which never ceases to amuse me! His clothing tends towards the
practical side of things. Feel free to pick an eye color, I don't
believe I
specfiied :-)
Celia
Isn't that sweet? *-*

Date: 2006-04-01 03:08 pm (UTC)Ta-dah!
Date: 2006-04-01 03:30 pm (UTC)The bracelet was tarnished silver, a streak of near-black on the red velvet lining the box set on the street stall. Gerald’s fingers closed in on it without hesitation. Damien raised his eyebrows, but remained silent as Gerald ruthlessly argued down the price.
He got his answer when they left the street fair and Gerald tenderly wiped the grime and tarnish off a fragile piece of glass. Underneath it was the face of a clock, too small to ever house the appropriate mechanism.
“A watch used to be an important theological analogy, Vryce. As the watch with its complexity proves the existence of a watchmaker, so the world proves the existence of its creator.”
Under Gerald’s touch, a tiny screw turned without resistance.
Tick.
Re: Ta-dah!
Date: 2006-04-01 03:39 pm (UTC)I love the description, but most of all I love how well you made it all fit together, the tarnished artifact and Gerald's homing in on it, the theological analogy, and the final "tick". Seriously, I'm very impressed and very happy. Thank you so much!
