Writing frustration

I totally should post something Star Wars related, except for the fact that I didn't realise posting my info in

imadra_blue's friending meme would lead to people actually friending me. So. Um. Probably not the right moment to mention the fact I haven't touched Star Wars with a ten foot pole in a long while.

Anyway, spent today trying to fic and failing. Current working-on-them-right-now list, just to motivate me tomorrow at work, because apparently I'm unable to write at home; at this rate I'll be able to write something I want to write around... hm, July?

- Vlad and Gabriel by the fire, for

- next set of Dooku drabbles for the

1character prompts, and the Dooku-and-Obi-Wan fic, for

- miscellaneous Dooku and non-Dooku fic for the SW people on the f-list because I'm feeling guilty

Oh, and on top of everything else I may be able to combine my obligations towards

fyrie, the Coldfire people and the Star Wars people in one fic. But I've a feeling it might get me a wee bit flamed =^.^=

fyrie did it again. The next installment of her Buffy/Tanz crossover killed me even deader. Even if you don't know anything about Buffy or Tanz, if you have the slightest fondness for dominant vampires, for Lucifer's sake read this story.

Oh dear. Now I have an image of her breezing in and demanding demon-hunting info, and he just rattles off the appropriate index numbers in the library before he asks whether she'll need to borrow a rapier :>

Herbie-turning fic. I'm having to drag him kicking and screaming all the way to the inn, and he's standing there looking at the matron all speechless. I think he really doesn't want to go through all this angst. *kicks him*

That's pretty much the way they work. He doesn't stifle her natural behaviour and she accepts him for the way he is :D I suspect Illyria and Dawn will turn into sparring buddies at some point and that when Dawn does her globe-trot thing, she'll take Illyria along just to shut Spike up :D

Also, had a thought for a scene at some point after Dawn gets herself immortalified (which I now have a number of possible options to follow-up) - she's sitting on the lawn with Spike, just after sundown and she admits to him she did very silly, painful trials like he did for his soul and he's just gaping at her and asking why and she shrugs and says "because he keeps losing people. I didn't wanna be another one". Boggled by how much she cares, Spike wanders off and even before he's out of sight, Dawn murmurs "and how much of that did you overhear?" a moment before arms slide around her waist out of thin air ;)

*wibbles* Poor VK! Having to eat someone that close has to be bad.

VK's dilemma isn't helped by the fact that by now Herbert has given up and is screaming and ranting in my head. I'm hoping I can get them both to let me sleep and start all over again tomorrow...

Maybe I should let VK arrive on a large black horse. I think he'd like that.

I'm so glad I just get possessed by crazy vampires who use me as their conduit so I rarely have to re-write. Makes it so much simpler.

Oh, yes! Nothing says style like a huge, sweating, snorting black horse :D

Oh, I won't re-write. Just start kicking VK all over again until he behaves :D The horse might be a good move, since he maintains he can't travel that fast by magic alone.

I'm afraid I'll have to curb my own obsession in order to get up at a reasonable hour and in a reasonable physical state tomorrow, so I'll be around for about half an hour more, but I'll be eagerly awaiting anything you might want to toss my way.

I won't be around much longer than that myself, either. I have classes first thing, plus, after a 7 hour shift of solid work including lots of lifting and carrying, am slightly stiff and achey.

But will try and toss you something before I flee :)

“How can she not want to have a normal life?”

Sprawled on his belly on a broad bed, chin resting on his folded hands, Vittorio watched her pace. “Bella,” he murmured. “Have you ever considered that she does not want a normal life?”

Buffy turned and blinked. “What kind of crazy talk is that?” she demanded. “I know I would have given anything to be just a normal girl when I was her age. I wanted to go to movies and do homework and study…”

“But you have not had a life like hers,” he observed.

That stopped the Slayer mid-pace and she turned to look at him. “What? With having to deal with the Slay-y stuff?”

Vittorio slowly shook his head. “No, bella,” he murmured. “It is far simpler than that; you have grown with being a Slayer. You have those who support you and aid you and have grown with you. She, as sister, saw only from the outside. She had none to support and guide her as you have. She has had experiences that you have not.”

(I think I'm in love with Vittorio)

Oi. Since when is Vittorio allowed to be so wise? ;)

Honestly. If I didn't already like him to pieces...

(BTW, mind if I borrow him sometimes for various pre-Buffy vampire fic?

Well, Vittorio is as old as VK, pretty much, and he's not just a prettyhead :D

That old, or maybe even older? Now I'm wondering when they'd met. Perhaps while Austrian rule over Italy still held...

Well, we know he had been head-honcho in a certain part of Italy for 200 years when he caught Angelus and Spike, so there's every likelihood that he's probably older ;)

“Yeah,” Buffy said, approaching the bed. “She didn’t have to stop the apocalypse.”

“No, no, no, bella.” Leaning up on one arm, Vittorio motioned for her to sit close to him. “You misunderstand. You were destined to this life, to know the things you know, to see the things you have seen. She was not.”

Sitting on the edge of the bed, Buffy twisted her fingers together. “I tried to keep her away from it all,” she mumbled. “Things sucked enough for me. I didn’t want them to find out.”

“I know.” His arm slipped around her waist as he leaned closer to her and gazed up at her. “But such things are sometimes beyond our control. This is the life she has grown with, since an age where such things are important.”

“But I wanted out, when I was her age,” Buffy turned in his embrace to look down at him. “I hated being so different, so isolated by what I was and what I had to do.”

Vittorio nodded understandingly. “But you were already in all ways yourself, when you were shown this life,” he observed gently. “You were upon the final steps of the path to adulthood. Dawn was but a child.”

Vittorio's doing good as the voice of reason. Here's hoping he can keep her civil enough to stop VK from doing the growly thing too much ;)

Oh yes. Buffy's so caught up in rage, she forgot about her friend propped in the doorway :D

And I'm sure someone, probably Herbert, deposited Willow in a nice bedroom with a stack of interesting books. Herbie's thoughtful like that.

More than likely, since everyone else stormed off :D And that guy... the eyes... GAH!

“Bella, look to your friends,” he murmured. “You have been surrounded by those with powers that captivate those without. You likely did not notice, as you had such strengths yourself. It became natural to you as breathing. But she saw these powers, she saw what you could do, what you did do.” His thumb brushed her cheek. “For a child, enthralled by powers she could not understand, you were as magical and wondrous as a superhero.” He gave her a brief, gentle smile. “Do you not see how she could long to be like you? To steep herself in the darkness, that she might touch a little of the incredible feats you have performed?”

Translation: she'll probably have VK teach her do the cloakswirly thing and the growling :D

Would this be Vittorio in that scene, perhaps?
