Requisite Yuletide recs

Ooops. Took a bit on those, since the reveal is around the corner. I've read haphazardly this year, and there are some old favourite fandoms where I still haven't read a single story.

Featured fandoms: 10 Things I Hate About You, Arthurian Legend, Fairy Tales, Hot Fuzz, Vorkosigan series, Lucifer, Merlin, Greek Mythology.

Note: there are no recs from my musical fandoms. This is because all Elisabeth, Tanz der Vampire and Romeo et Juliette fics are gorgeous, and because I'm a bit too invested there ;) See my previous post for the ones that were written for me in the Lord John, Elisabeth and Tanz der Vampire fandoms - I adore each and every one. There are also no recs of stories where I know the author - that's for after the reveal ;)

10 Things I Hate About You: Won't Be Your Winter - Patrick and Kat, a decade later. I love the way they're still them.

Arthurian Legend: What Is And What Seems To Be - Guinevere, if the stories had allowed her her own strength.

Fairy Tales: Fire, Measured by What Doesn't Burn - love and djinn and post-traumatic stress disorder. I've read a lot of stories about people coming back from wars, but this is one of the best ones.

Fairy Tales: Verity - proving that fairytale princesses can kick ass and take names with the best of them. It reminds me of an Italian series of movies called Fantaghiro.

Hot Fuzz: Tokens of Affection - a long story in a fandom that lacks for them, and a great read.

Vorkosigan series: Alone Time - perfect Aral and Cordelia fluff.

Vorkosigan series: Escaping Gravity - Byerly enlists help to deal with Ivan. I love those two, and the characterization is spot-on.

Lucifer: Taciturnitas - Lucifer and Duma, and a haunting story.

Merlin: Stubborn With Beauty - because for some reason Lancelot seems to be the Merlin fandom character of choice to bash, and this story does him right.

Merlin: Buggre All This - A bodyswap adventure, long and plotty and slashy just like the show itself.

Mythology - Greek: this is not a chick flick - Hades and Persephone, and a story that had me rolling on the floor. A must.
