The gay rights parade rocked. Organisers estimated 20 thousand people, and it sure looked like it. More detailed post coming tomorrow, but for the time being, major props to the police for handling the stray neonazi very firmly :D
Oh, it was :D Tons of people - we started off in the middle and it took us almost two hours to push through to the front. I think I liked the guy with the live snake best, though there were the usual suspects - drag queens, anarchists, communists, liberals, greens, and I think I counted at least 15 dogs of various sizes. Civil protest rocks.
That's really nice :D I watched you guys march right under my windows~ It looked very colorful and cheerful. A stunning contrast with the hoards of black-clad police reinforcements lurking in the park and looking quite evil. It was funny looking at them trying to stay in the shadows and not be visible o_o;
The policemen came in handy when some neo-nazi idiots tried to attack, that's for sure. And I think that in full gear, you'd have fitted in nicely with the parade ;)
*eyedart* Eleven. To be thirteen before the month is out, because I couldn't dream of letting fyrie go alone. If only because she doesn't understand a word of Polish ;)
I think I'm more worried about her abducting vampires than the other way around ;) Mentions were made of large bags and the difficulty of smuggling squirming pretties through customs.
That's a very, very conservative estimate. I think I saw more of them myself, and I only got through half the length of the parade :) It stretched out very far, that's for sure - nearly a kilometer, and about 10-20 people in each row, so the math should be easy. But it's a good thing we hit the news!
It was fun indeed. Glad I saw you and could say hi :))
We marched till Świętokrzyska, than jumped out to get a bowl of soup at Marak, and joined back in front of the Theatre. The police were quite helpful, and so much less of tham than last year. Only, I kept thinking, how on earth were they able to survive in full gear in that temperature!!!
Sorry I had to rush off so quickly - we'd arranged to meet our mothers ahead, so we were in a hurry :) We marched the entire length of the parade. Apparently there were a lot more cops in the Saski Garden though - Mother got photos galore of them.
Hee! I knew my hairdo would get attention :D Thanks for telling me.
(I actually had my hair like that so it would curl in time for Tanz der Vampire in the evening. K. got a double treat of parade and show on the same day :))

(Tell her chloroform works like a charm in those situations. :-)
