Stanislaw Lem passed on today.

If you don't know who he is, get to a library already. The Star Diaries are genius, and then it gets better.

Oh. Sad to hear. His was the first "serious" science fiction I read. :s

For me, it's just gah - the Cyberiad was one of my favourite "fairy tale" books in childhood, and it only got better once I grew up.
