When they teach about the Nazi invasion of Poland here in the US (at least, back when I was in school in the 70's and early 80's), there was always a hint of blame towards our country that we didn't do something earlier, since we stayed out of the conflict until Japan attacked Pearl Harbor in 1941. We are taught now that it was a mistake not to have gotten involved.

Granted, that kind of thinking has led to the polar opposite now where the US tends to get involved with things that are none of its business...and oh! Aren't we smug about it? It's very tiresome.

I love my country and all that, but we do some stupid things sometimes.

Hopefully, Poland is getting back on its feet now? Here's for better times in the future for all of us.
